The constitution was sign on September 17, 1787 but wasn't ratified until the previous year. According to Article VII of the articles of confederation, the consitution could not go into effect until nine states ratified the constitution. New Hampshire was the ninth state to ratify the constitution.
The Constitution has twenty-seven amendments and the first ten are called the Bill of Rights! To propose a new amendment, 2/3 of both houses of congress, the legistative branch, must propose the new amendment.The constitution also contains approximately 4,400 words!
